It’s Friday, everyone! Don’t you just want to scream so loud that your lung will explode because it’s Friday?!
This weekend is looking great. My baby cousin’s birthday party is tomorrow, so delicious food will be eaten and looking forward for him to open the presents W and I bought him. Then, a 10 mile training run is waiting for us on Sunday. Training is on full force for our April marathon. Fun, isn’t it?
To save some calories and the appetite for the weekend, today’s lunch is on the lighter simple side and easily whip up in 10 minutes. Just asparagus and a few quail eggs drizzle in Hollandaise sauce. It was a perfect meal for a Friday afternoon. Would you say so?
Have a wonderful weekend! Stay hungry, stay healthy!
cute little eggs! where did you get them?
Hi Irena! I bought them at an Asian supermarket (aka Ranch 99).
Thank you, I’ll check the nearest. I don’t believe I could eat them, but for decoration are great.
And thanks for nice photos again!
As usual, great photos and tasty looking recipe!
Thank you so much again! Enjoy your ride on the weekend!
Interesting pair of quail eggs and asparagus! Will have to try this. Do you use an easy hollandaise recipe?

Hi Alice! No special Hollandaise sauce recipe. Just the usual butter, egg yolks, lemon juice but with a pinch of cajun seasoning. ~Irene
Does a quail egg taste the same as a chicken egg?
I can’t taste the difference beside the egg yolk is smaller which I prefer, especially when pairing with hollandaise sauce which already got so much yolks in it. It fits my small mouth in one bite 🙂
Ok, I’ve never had one. Nice camera by the way. The pics look like a food magazine.
I love the simplicity of this recipe. Its been a while since I last had quail eggs. Its getting less common over here. Thank you for sharing.
It’s not very common for usage here either but luckily supermarket still sell them which make them easy to find. When you don’t have time or feel like cooking and want a healthy tasty salad (just don’t put too much butter in the Hollandaise sauce), this surely will make a quickie meal 🙂
Thanks for the tip on the sauce. Noted! 🙂
Love the photos but where did you get the quail eggs?
Hi Scott! Thanks for loving my photos! I got the quail eggs from an Asian supermarket around my neighbor.
The pictures are stunning and I love your recipes!
Hi Assia! Thanks for liking my photos and recipe. It’s surely a quickie side or salad to make. Can’t complain for the number of ingredients to use for this. If you don’t have quail eggs sitting around in the fridge, chicken eggs would work just fine too 🙂
Asparagus looks wonderful!
Hi Phil! Thanks for stopping by!
Gorgeous! I love the eggs and your asparagus looks incredible.
Hi Judy! Aren’t these quail eggs adorable? They are like petite eggs. Just the perfect size in one bite 🙂
