W has been stressed about work this week so we took it easy before our training long run tomorrow to prepare for our Paris marathon (which is coming up in a little over a month. Yikes!).
It was a beautiful Saturday with weather in the 70s. Yes, 70s in middle of winter. No excuse to be couch potato.
We started out the day visiting an open house (as we are still searching for THE house), which was newly renovated and ready move in, however, I am afraid we will face another bidding war with the number of buyers visited the house.
The rest of the day spent in the old downtown Pleasanton, that is only a few miles nearby the open house. The town has a lot of charm, and reminded me of the Old West. There are plenty of cute mom and pop shops that sell clothes, gifts, crafts, and kitchenware. I did some shopping at Therapy, one of my favorite retail stores that sells unique dresses, tops and funky decor.
We hit up Yolatea to stay hydrated and relax while people watching and reading magazines and sip on sweet honey green tea.
Dinner was at a hole in the wall restaurant, Gugu’s Pizza and Pasta, where the decor was super fun, where the service was super friendly, and where the food was ridiculously yummy. I think we are carbo loaded enough to get ready for our run.
Good night, everyone! Have a beautiful Sunday!
OMG! I can’t believe your marathon is coming up so soon! It only seems like yesterday that you were telling me about it last year. How exciting… I’m so envious, I can’t wait to hear of your thought on Paris. BTW – your earrings are super cute 🙂
“Hole in the wall” restaurants and cafes are often the best. Sounds like you had a great day.
A perfect glimpse to a sweet Saturday. Good luck for the marathon! Keep us posted
and yes, Happy Sunday!
Best wishes Irene with the marathon! Love the pictures!
I love the hole in the wall restaurants. Loving the jukebox 🙂 Yummy food 🙂
Cute blog! I love your style too 🙂
Pleasanton is such a…pleasant town. Grew up in Fremont, so I know it well. Hope you get the house. {{{Hugs]}} Kozo
I always admire people who run marathons. When I was still living in Boston, I tried not to miss watching the Boston Marathon in person. It’s such a place of inspiration.
Good luck with the training and upcoming Marathon.
Love these iphone photos.
That’s exactly right! It was where I was inspire to start running…and after 2 years I did my first marathon. Since then, I couldn’t stop running. Hope one day I could qualify for Boston Marathon.
Thanks, sweetie! I will try my best 🙂
70’s in the winter….oh so jealous! Looks like a fun Saturday, good luck with the marathon!
